Welcome to the Psychedelic Blog. I write about the impact of Psychedelics on Grieving, Relationships, Culture & Death. Periodically, I dedicate this blog to detailing my Psychedelic journeys to the other side. Well-crafted trip reports are rare, so I strive to share my journeys to the other side with genuine authenticity.
I recently communed with a powerful Psychedelic called Sapito, also referred to as Bufo, the Toad, or the God Molecule. The active ingredient in Sapito is 5-MeO-DMT, the most potent Psychedelic on Earth.
I’m not recommending the use of Psychedelics; anyone interested should consult with their doctor or therapist first. Alright, let’s dive in.
“Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real” — Neils Bohr.
Morning
The facilitator and I sat at the table, waiting for our ride into the jungle for round two of my scheduled ceremonies. A deep sense of inner peace lingered from my Samadhi journey the night before. As we waited, he shared a story about a man who approached Sapito recklessly, failing to respect the medicine’s power. Shortly after communing with the toad, the man tragically took his own life.
With the world’s most potent Psychedelic, there’s a real risk of crossing into the void and not returning. I knew someone who, after his Bufo experience, was haunted by recurring visions of the Big Bang—an overwhelming event he first experienced during the journey itself. He’d be on a date, seeing one part of her face while the other part showed the universe forming. I’ve come across many similar stories from people who weren’t ready for Bufo but took the plunge anyway. While uncomfortable stories about Ayahuasca are common, with Bufo, many are downright terrifying.
I share this because it’s crucial to be certain that we are ready. If there’s doubt, it’s best to assume we aren’t. This was my fourth time communing with the God Molecule, and it would become the most powerful mystical experience of my life.
Arriving in the Jungle
At every Sapito ceremony, there are always two facilitators present—one to administer the medicine, the other to ensure your safety as you suddenly lose motor function. While they prepared the medicine, I found myself alternating between intense thoughts about the upcoming journey and being eaten alive by bugs. My peaceful mood slowly shifted to tension as the reality of the experience loomed closer.
My first experience with Bufo changed my life forever—it turned me from an atheist into a believer and revealed a reality that had previously been hidden from me. The message I received was so precise, it couldn’t be dismissed as mere randomness or hallucination. My next two experiences were much more peaceful, serene, and beautiful. But it had been nearly three years since my last journey with the Toad, and with many significant life changes since then, I felt like a fighter stepping back into the ring after a long hiatus.
One theme I’ve explored extensively is the danger of living a life adorned with constant comfort. It would have been much easier to wake up that morning, cook some eggs, and head to the beach to enjoy the paradise that is Puerto Vallarta. But that kind of bliss is far sweeter when it’s earned after a challenging endeavor. In fact, the only way to truly appreciate the beauty in life is to first immerse yourself in what terrifies you—safely, of course.
Blast Off
The facilitators approached with the medicine, signaling the end of rumination. The wait was over, thank God. Too much anticipation can be overwhelming—our minds tend to go to interesting places under duress.
But, as always, the moment the smoke filled the container, I was overcome by an immense sense of peace. I embraced whatever was about to unfold. I was in for the ride of a lifetime.
There’s a fleeting moment of pure terror as the smoke hits your lungs. In that instant, you realize you have absolutely no control over what’s coming next. Sapito may be the only Psychedelic that completely transcends this realm—where not a single part of you remains in baseline consciousness. As you lose motor function and lay on the ground, you surrender entirely to the most powerful medicine in the world. You’re launched into a dimension that only the brave and those who have passed on have witnessed. It’s a rocket ship to the most beautiful place I have ever been.
12 Minutes
That’s roughly how long the most powerful mystical experience of my life lasted. Of course, in whatever dimension Sapito takes us to, the concept of ‘time’ is meaningless. And honestly, it’s probably a good thing these journeys are brief—something so intense demands brevity. Words fall short of capturing what happened in those 12 minutes, but I’ll do my best.
I believe I was fully immersed in the quantum world. Atoms, electrons, and neutrons danced around me, firing in perfect symmetry. Everything was alive with vibrancy and beauty, and I was completely absorbed—a three-dimensional being in a space with countless dimensions, where everything was happening all around me. Shapes were constantly dying and replicating, an astonishing symphony of vibrations and cycles. The notion that such perfection is the result of randomness becomes laughable to those who’ve experienced it firsthand. We’ve all heard the saying, “There are no atheists in a foxhole”—well, there are none after transcendence either.
It felt as though my physical body had completely merged with the jungle—I was the jungle. There was no separation between ‘me’ and the environment. I could hear everything—the buzzing of every fly, the gentle sway of branches in the breeze, the flow of water in the nearby river—I was completely immersed. Is this how our ancestors experienced the world? Or perhaps I tapped into the toad’s consciousness, catching a glimpse of its perception of reality?
The remaining moments were spent in pure awe. Complete amazement and humility for what I was witnessing. Reverence for the medicine, gratitude to the facilitators for guiding me, and respect for myself—for having the courage to venture into the abyss.
An Awakening
The first time I opened my eyes after the journey, I felt like a completely new person. That feeling was soon validated when the facilitator remarked, “Your eyes, they are different.”
At that moment, I knew a part of me had died in that jungle. Like a snake shedding its skin, I had left a version of myself behind. It’s impossible to visit the source of all creation and return unchanged. I felt focused. Euphoric. Present. Grateful. Alive—more alive than I had ever felt in my entire life.
Later that evening, I threw away the clothes I had worn to the ceremony. They were part of the person I no longer was. Some may see this as a sentimental gesture, but for those who have truly transcended, they’ll understand why that decision was significant—why it wasn’t just a trivial act.
Mother Earth
Once I regained my bearings, we walked down to the river. I waded into the knee-high water when one of the facilitators instructed me to look up at the sun. A prayer was spoken, in Spanish, but it didn’t matter. Some things in life are so intuitive they transcend language. I knew exactly what to do.
I raised my arms, looked up at the sun, and closed my eyes. In that moment, I felt deeply rooted as a child of this earth. I was reminded of philosopher Alan Watts’ story of a UFO flying by Earth millions of years ago. At first, the aliens would have seen nothing but "a bunch of rocks." But on a return flight, after millions of years, they would look down, see cities and civilizations, and realize, "Oh, those were people-ing rocks." The takeaway is profound—we are the earth. We don’t come into this world, we come out of it.
After leaving the river, my friend pointed out a tree with incredibly sharp spikes jutting out from it. One misstep, and we’d have been in a world of pain. The contrast struck me—the beauty of a tree in the jungle, protected by an army of razor-sharp defenses. It’s a reflection of the balance in nature—everything beautiful must be protected. A powerful metaphor for life.
What’s Next
It’s been a few weeks since I communed with two of the most powerful Psychedelics on Earth, and I’m experiencing a profound sense of clarity and gratitude for the privilege of this human experience. I also feel a level of focus and determination that I haven’t felt in years.
I believe these potent Psychedelics offer us lessons—sometimes many. By staying open, journaling, and maintaining my daily routines of rigorous physical training, clean eating, and meditation, I know the insights will continue to flow for weeks, maybe even months. It’s crucial that I remain diligent in absorbing these lessons and cautious in making decisions—a theme I discussed on the ‘Psychedelic Conversations’ podcast with Susan Guner. There’s real danger in making life-altering choices immediately after a Psychedelic journey.
One thing I won’t delay is embracing the overwhelming sense of gratitude I feel for life. My journey hasn’t been easy, but I believe the universe only gives us what we can handle. And apparently, I can handle quite a bit. I’ll do so with awe and gratitude—because the alternative doesn’t appeal to me.

So beautifully explained, athough part of a journey can not be convey in words, as those feelings, sensations are so unique, private, AND inexplicable as they only beeing to oneself. Grateful for the shared experience, thank you, and thank you for allowing yourself to make the shift, taking the quantum leap. Blessings 🙏🏻
